Tyco Flow Control - Troubleshooting

Issues listed here are related to each respective program listed.

Safety Size 2004

  1. Screen by Screen walkthrough of Safety Size 2004 Installation
Looking for help with the installation of Safety Size 2004, download this word document that will show you screen shots of the installation process and walk you through the installation.

  2. "Login Failed for AGCUser" or "SQL Server not found" or "Database does not exist or Access denied".
You will need to navigate to C:\Program Files\SafetySize2004 folder and locate DbConfg.exe file. Launch the file and it will start up with step 3 of 5. Continue with the installation and you are okay. The program is installing too fast for the machine. The MSDE engine was not started and the installation program tried to attach the database and fails. So, when you start the program, you get this error message.

  3. Application hangs at step 4 of 5
Refer to item 5 of the installation procedure under "Interim SS 2003/2004 users" for instructions on how to uninstall the MSDE engine.

  4. Application starts; on Login page, requests user name and password.
It can be any text that you choose. It cannot be blank. This is not something that we provide you, but rather something you decide.

  5. Can't uninstall the MSDE engine in Control Panel or Uninstall returns an ERROR - "Cannot find a File".
(DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MODIFY YOUR REGISTRY, THIS CAN CAUSE YOUR MACHINE TO BECOME UNSTABLE AND YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING) We usually take the settings out of the registry for this one and delete the program. Several things must be checked before attempting this.

  6. "File/Path Access Error" when you try to print.
There is a special character used somewhere in your naming of the project or tag you are trying to print. Double check you have not used any special characters for your tag name or project name. If you remove the special characters the print function should work.
    Special characters include: \ / : * ? " < > |

  7. What is the UserName and Password for the database?
The database username and password might be required if you lose connection to your data source. This is different from the personal security settings which are something you make up yourself not something we provide for you.

    Safety Size 2004
    DataSource: (local)
    UserName: AGCUser
    Password: AGCUser

    *Password is Case sensitive
  8. My regional settings use a comma instead of a decimal for numerical data.
If you use commas (,) to denote the decimal, you will need to go into your regional settings and change your decimal symbol from a comma to a period.
    • Start Button
    • Go to Control Panel
    • Select Regional and Language Options
    • Select the Regional Options Tab
    • Click on the Customize Button
    • Change Decimal Symbol from a comma (,) to a period (.)
    • Click OK
    • Click OK
Please note that this will affect every program that you run, so you will need to follow the same steps to change the Decimal Symbol back to a comma (,) once you are finished using SafetySize.
